Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer exclusive rights?

Yes, exclusive rights are offered and only offered for custom beats. You will obtain complete ownership (Buyout) of the track.

Why aren't exclusive rights offered on your licensed beats?

This is due to the nature of the licensing business in general. Almost 9 out of 10 cases of beats bought under an exclusive license will not guarantee that the same beat hasn’t been previously licensed. Therefore, to avoid in conflicts concerning “non-exclusive” & “exclusive” owners, I only offer exclusive purchases which entitles you to complete ownership. Please contact me for further details.

What's the difference between a non-exclusive & exclusive beat?

The difference between the two is, a non-exclusive beat can be sold multiple times to different buyers, whereas an exclusive license, once purchased, stops the seller from selling anymore licenses for that beat. Keep in mind, even though you can buy exclusive rights at some places, other buyers who have purchased “that” same beat before you, can still use that beat.

Do you use commercial samples in your beats?

No, I do not use any commercial samples from songs already under ownership. If you are interested in a custom beat that contains samples under ownership, I will create a beat as a work made for hire for a fee and you will be responsible for all clearances on all samples used within the beat.

What are trackouts and stem files?

Trackouts and stem files are the same thing under two different names. They are the individual tracks that make up an entire beat. These can include a track with just kicks, another with just a snare or clap, one with a bassline, another with only a piano and so on.

What are the advantages of each license?

A Basic License is pretty much tailored to the artist just starting out. Mainly demo purposes with this option. The basic license is strictly for audio use only. Singles, mixtapes or albums. No visual mediums can be synched with the beat or public performances conducted with the beat. Once you have created a derivative work of the beat (your vocals over the track) you can sell as many copies as you like royalty free for up to 1 year from the date of purchase.

A Standard License is geared more for the artist in need of audio distribution and video. (Ex: Youtube/music videos) Public performances are not allowed with this license. You can sell as many copies of the derivative work you want for up to 2 years from the date of purchase.

A Premium License is geared more towards the artist who’s looking for audio distribution, video to the beat and perform public shows or concerts. You can sell as many copies of the derivative work you want for up to 3 years from the date of purchase. In the case of public performancse such as concerts or shows where revenue is generated in excess of one-thousand ($1,000) US Dollars in Ticket Sales, Licensee Must Contact Me for PRO Affiliation & Registrant Info.

Do I credit you or the website in writing or on the track?

Either or for both situations. You can credit me or my webiste in writing or vocally on the track and even both if you wish. Credit however, must be given in some form as all vocal tags are removed from the entire track you receive for download.

Is there a distribution limit once I make a complete song?

With all 3 licensing options, there is no distribution limit within the set amount of time the license is valid. Depending on which license you have, it varies. For example: If you have a standard license, you can sell as many copies as you want within a 2 year period. After the 2 year period, the license is no longer valid. You must obtain a renewal fee to continue making profit with the beat. Please contact me for details concerning renewal fees.

Are royalties due with the tracks I use?

No, royalties are never due with any tracks you purchase. Only renewal fees are due at the end of your licensing term. Please contact me for details concerning renewal fees.

Is paypal the only form of payment you accept?

Yes, Paypal is the only form of payment I accept due to the fact it protects you and me. Websites are compromised everyday and knowing that none of your financial information will ever be stored on my website… and if my website were to ever be compromised, you have a true peace of mind knowing none of your financial information is stored on this website.

I purchased a beat/signed up for free beats & didn't get the download, what happened?

Unfortunately, this can happen, although rarely and I apologize if you’re here reading this because you’re experiencing this situation. Due to the technicalities involved in digital download sites, things can go wrong. First, you want to check your spam folder in the email account of the email address you provided. Sometimes the downloads can get caught in your spam filter because your email provider doesn’t recognize me.  If this isn’t the case & you purchased a beat, just contact me with your PayPal receipt & I’ll send the order manually. For free beats you did not receive download links for, just contact me and I can also resend those manually. Please note, it can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hrs to get them sent out due to the high volume of emails I receive. Thanks for your patience & understanding!
